This album re-examines the platform of ambient music, composed largely with blurry, dazed pads nestling under blip-blop synthesized reverberations. There is a calmness in it’s sonic air but there’s also an added drizzle of sinister intent. This isn’t the most distinctive music landscape you’ll hear, but it has a certain allure and appeal you just can’t explain.
Here we have a pulsing sonic tremor running through ears long after you’ve finished listening to it. There’s also some clever production trickery to create plenty of tension and atmospheric intrigue. This is a throbbing heart into the often misunderstood galaxy of dark ambient soundscapes.
You feel immediately calm when you discover this music. It’s ambient music, but this branches out into a whole new atmosphere. It has dark tinges. It has light touches. It has conventional guitars. It has great warmth. It has my admiration. However, I wouldn’t say I absolutely love it.
Three words come to mind when I hear this – brooding and intense. This ambient album is also darkly enchanting, evoking feelings of being whisked away towards harsh soundscapes from another planet. It’s a wonderfully flowing sonic mirage with a compelling drone aesthetic.
A fantastic ambient album that packs a punch. You have wonderful little synth/piano chimes mixed within a rich body of electroacoustic textures. Every little inflexion sounds like sleeping in a far away land of hopes and dreams. Such interesting textures and incredible balance – this is a real treat.
An album soaked and washed with texture. It features some squidgy and subtle little synthesizer decoration with a DIY aesthetic, which is good and bad to some degree. Musically the album is under-developed, but it’s quite unusual to hear ambient electronics with an almost analogue quality.
This album features a truly wonderful blend of harmonies marbled in it’s sonic stratosphere. There’s a heavy brew of emotion and craft with each sweeping string. I feel the notes caressing my ears into a state of complete melancholy.
I’d almost written this music off, but when the ambient textures started fondling and tenderising my earlobes, I dropped out into this trippy journey. You hear square synths with some tribal punch, delicately garnished with a steady, driven beat. It’s Chillout music that lives up to it’s name.
As you wonder into this sonic chamber you are seduced by the plinky-plonky glitters of delicate synthesizers massaging your inner karma. This album also features a range of jazz percussion further enhancing the enchanted ambience. An effortlessly tranquil atmosphere.
This industrial ambient set sends a creepy, haunting tremor to your spine, unsettling any anxiety in your mind with an abundance of heavy processing. Additionally, the soft and hard textures create a densely layered sonic quality.
