Although this music sounds like it has been recorded down a well, the intensely lo-fi nature of the sounds that filter into your earlobes have a raw, natural quality. I can forgive the mushy, atmospheric vocals as I feel this music is uncompromisingly good. I mean above average.
It had been reported in the news that indie pop music has turned into a pile of shit. However, recent research has discovered lispector, who has injected some skill, passion and originality to the proceedings. There’s plenty of crackle and lo-fi experimentation, back up by some songwriting.
This rather deflated collection of songs feature apathetic and bored vocals festering on a steaming pile of piano bashing. However, the song titles are so inspiring (‘Organizing Meat’, ‘Google Search Myself’, ‘We Need More Vodka’), if you’re inspired to clear out a busy bar on an open-mike night.
